Neville Grove Lower Level Station takes on a slightly different role in this video as it masquerades as an LNER terminus. The brand new Hornby J13 and J52 act as station pilots bringing in prestigious express trains into the platforms ready for their bigger Gresley colleagues to take out onto the mainline.
The @officialhornby J13 and J52 might be diminutive in stature, but their all metal heft means they can pack a considerable punch on the rails meaning they can shunt the long and heavy trains that the much bigger locomotives.
So this haulage capacity is great for modellers too. It also means they will cope well with gradients and the tight curves that are inevitable on most model railway layouts.
The little Ivatt tank engines get a spin out on the mainline too. Polished up Great Northern green liveried 1257 hurries a Quad Art articulated set along through the countryside whilst scruffier 4225 in LNER Black takes charge of a pick up goods.
I have fitted both locos with 21 pin HM7000 decoders and installed the J13 / J52 Sound Profile on each. See my Haulage Test Short to hear them in action. Here though, they have been synced with archive sound recorded by Peter Handford as has the A4 and Hush Hush. I hope you enjoy!
Special thanks to @MrLoewietje for letting me feature his stunning Coronation Set and 4491, and to Luke Jackson for the use of his sublime QuadArt twin set and 4489. All stock has been visiting the Neville Grove Weathering Studio for detail fitting and weathering.
