I use these optima 40 staples to close paper coin flips because I want flat staples.
In my opinion these staplers work great and I do recommend them for coin collectors who store coins in paper flips. However I strongly recommend using the correct/recommended staples as I believe using the wrong staplers has permanently degraded my Optima 40 stapler.
