This project was really a study of the human body grappling with an exceptionally physical piece of music on the cello. I have devoted my life to playing the cello as well as I can- and a large part of that process is physical analysis and figuring out what exactly should be going on in the body! This video was really fun to make because there were elements I expected to see and elements that really surprised me, and like any good scientist I want to know more and ask more questions. I think the relationship between the body of the performer and the instrument is a beautiful and fascinating one, and something we need to understand better.
