Palak as every one knows is a leafy vegetable, which is healthy, and also we prepare a variety of items with it like palak dal, palak puri, palak rice and today i would like to put up palak chakli of my version! Here goes the recipe for palak chakli!
INGREDIENTS:
1. Rice atta - 1 cup
2. Hurigadle powder - 1/4 cup
3. Besan atta - 1 tbsp
4. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
5. Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
6. Asafoetida powder - 2 pinches
7. Salt - as needed
8. Unsalted amul butter - 2 tsp
9. Water - as needed to make the dough
10. Cooking oil - 2 cups to fry chakli
FOR PALAK PUREE:
1. Palak leaves 10-15
2. Green chili -1
3. Water - 1/8 cup
PROCEDURE: Wash and chop palak leaves and transfer it to mixie along with a green chili, and little water to grind it to a fine puree. Transfer the grind puree to a bowl. Add sieved mix of rice atta , hurigadle powder and besan atta to the bowl. Add cumin seeds, sesame seeds, 2 pinches of asafoetida powder, butter and salt to it. Give a mix with your hands. Add water in steps to make a medium soft dough and rest for 30 minutes. Later on, pinch out a ball , knead and place it in the chakli mold and press it into round disc of required size and make spirals and fry in oil on medium flame till crispy. Store it in air tight containers and will remain afresh for about 15 days. Makes in all around 15 depending on the mold! yum yum!!
