Ice Climber released on January 30th 1985 for the Famicom and was later released in NA and PAL regions.
Two games modes available
1 Player Game
2 Player Game (Coop)
You play as one of two ice climbers equipped with a parka and mallet with the goal of reaching the top of the mountain on each stage.
Each mountain stage will consist of 8 vertical layers that you can platform through. Once you reach past the 8th layer you play a bonus stage.
Your jumps are high but very short width wise. This can be tricky to get used to as you're movement is limited compared to other platformers. When you jump into the ice bricks above you they'll break clearing a path to the top.
Only a handful of enemies stand in your way including birds, icicles and seals (or snow yetis in the NA/PAL versions). The seals can repair missing bricks on the layer they patrol. As well there's also a bear that comes by, he can raise the screen usually causing your death if on a lower level. You can hit them with your mallet to temporarily remove them.
Win Condition - Complete all 32 mountains
