Julz, Hope for healing in protracted withdrawal from psychotropic medication

Описание: Hi, I'm Julz and this is my story. In 2004, I was then 21, I was faced with difficulties in life which led me to be depressed and cope with anorexia. Desperate to get my life back together, I filled the prescription I was given by a field-renowned psychiatrist who had promised me recovery within 3 months. 6 years later, I had only gotten worse and worse, withdrawn from the whole world, a nobody.
In 2010, an opportunity: I was still on 'meds' but I was able to distance myself from the psychiatrist in question, and that was the beginning of rebuilding myself (in hindsight).
In 2017, after a three-year taper with the sole support of the internet and an online forum, I was finally off drugs for the first time in my life in 13 years.
My post-taper was horrific. I won't go into all the details of it here, just believe me when I tell you the smile you see on my face today in this video is one that emerges after a dear lot of suffering. Mainly mental symptoms, a very great lot of them. I can tell you more about that time, how I got through all these symptoms, because I had to learn so much in order to cope. About the process, the symptoms, myself and how 'I' functioned (despite feeling very disconnected from myself).
It also hints at what healing might mean, in many other ways and in a broader sense, and how to empower ourselves again in a process that takes care of itself.
