The Ataris/Jungle Fish - Split (1997)

Описание: This is a split of 2 different bands The Ataris and Jungle Fish. The Ataris are a pretty well known pop punk band from the 90s who I personally don't care for as a whole outside of the first album which is geniunely one of my favorites. Just really fast punchy tunes and the nice guy lyricism isn’t nearly as unbearable since it’s a bit more cutesy and there’s some nice humor on the album honestly. They're a songs band for me for the next 3 releases (I think their EP on Fat is excellent all the way through though) and then after that I think they're pretty unbearable with no songs I really like. Their songs on the split are delightful especially the masterpiece "Elvis Was A Skinhead" which has the stupidiest lyrics but it's so goddamn funny to me. As most know The Ataris didn't really become a band in the traditional sense until Blue Skies it was mostly Kris by himself and some musicians he knew helped like Derrick Plourde from Lagwagon. This is no different and it was really early 4 track demos from even before he had the backing of such people he just used a drum machine. Jungle Fish was Mike Davenport's band from before The Ataris really had a traditional band lineup and I don't care for those songs sorry something about them bores me but if you dig it hey that's cool. But I'm surprised this has never resurfaced on YouTube before it at least got a repress in the 2000s though which is pictured so that's something...
