I make a silver ring with an inset Roman intaglio stone, depicting a traditional wedding symbol of two clasped hands.
The silver is hand forged and soldered using only Early Medieval tools and techniques.
An historical oil lamp and blowtorch, along with a bag-bellow forge were used to anneal and solder the silver pieces. The silver was forged on a wrought iron anvil with a small Saxon hammer and polished to a mirror finish with a file and crushed quartz powder on leather.
