Installing a Shallow Well Irrigation Pump

Описание: We are installing an irrigation pump to a shallow well. This well is about 25 feet deep and currently uses a pitcher pump but a sprinkler is needed for the garden. I have had many people ask me about installing this type of pump to their shallow well for irrigation purposes. Well, here we go.
The pump that we are installing is a Lanchez 1 HP shallow well pump that was offered for review. The offer came at a very convenient time since my brother-in-law was looking at pumps to use for his garden. This pump has a draw depth of 26 feet, a headroom of 147 feet, capable of 1294 gph running 9.5 amps at 115 volts. It also boasts 65 psi so it can really push that water out. We found it very easy to install and use, and we were surprised at how quietly it operated.
This type of pump is a continuous duty pump meaning that it must run all of the time to produce water. If you need a system that uses pressure to turn the pump off and on it is simple enough to add a pressure switch and tank. As is, you can leave this pump installed for permanent duty but remember that the flow must be controlled by the power switch and not an inline spigot or valve.
Remember, the way you set this up is based on your needs. You can use rigid pipe instead of hose. You could use angled fittings. You may even want to adapt your casing pipe to allow for your hand pump and electric pump to be connected at the same time.
The pump comes with 1" NPT inlet/outlet so to complete the installation you will at least need two 1"NPT to garden hose adapters. Below is a list of everything we used here.
