Matthew Lanz Sentencing: Matthew Lanz, was found guilty in the 2021 killing of Justin and Amber Hicks in their Acworth home is taking place at the Cobb County Courthouse in Marietta, Georgia. Lanz waived his right to a jury trial, leaving the judge to hear the bench trial. Court proceedings included body camera video showing officers responding to the couple’s home, where their 2-year-old son was found alive after being left alone for hours.
