Schenefeld has borders to Hamburg in the south, southwest and southeast, particularly to the districts of Rissen, Sülldorf, Iserbrook, Osdorf and Lurup. In the northeast, Schenefeld borders on Halstenbek and in the northwest on the city of Pinneberg. The river Düpenau makes its way diagonally through the city and is shown on the citys flag.
