Sam the Man - Evening 2021-08-30

Описание: The lamp is going to get too hot, if left on all the time, so John is working on that, as well as working with Sam, to help him not be so frightened of men. Sam eventually changes beds, and is over where Jess can work with him and he thinks really hard about climbing out onto her lap. His shyness wins out and he bails out halfway, but that's huge progress! Random house cats appear and disappear throughout the evening. Jess does some training and John some reading, just hanging out in the room with Sam for a while, before packing it up and letting him have his space back.

Meet Sam, John's foster-to-adopt older gentleman. Sam is eleven years old, and has stage two kidney disease minor arthritis, and no teeth. Sam has been on his own since the kind lady who found him and his bonded friend Lucky in 2014 passed away, and then Lucky did also. He is shy, taking a while to settle in to new situations. His desire for attention is at odds with his shyness. He is reportedly non-reactive to other cats, being completely unfazed by their hissing upon first meeting, for instance. He is possibly extra skittish around men. He had not drawn any interest by adopters - until now.
