As the instability persists in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The East African Community leaders have called on all parties to cease hostilities and observe immediate and unconditional ceasefire. The E-A-C bloc held a virtual meeting, but Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi skipped the virtual session.
Meanwhile, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) leaders are expected to have an extraordinary summit on the current situation in the DRC.
The E-A-C leaders have shown an interest in meeting with their SADC counterparts as the regional bloc has deployed its mission in Eastern DRC.
