We’ve heard it said that the three most important parts of a buried pre-insulated pipe system are the joints, the joints and the joints. Whilst there's lots of other important facets to a buried heat network - such as the design, installation quality, materials used, insulation, etc. the joints are a critical area.
Take our bonded pre-insulated polymer pipe system. Having a polymer service pipe means that there’s a choice of jointing techniques that can be used – all of which produce a permanent and strong bond between each pipe. The video clip shows the three common methods – namely Butt, Socket and Electro-fusion.
When joining the outer casing, there’s also a variety of different solutions available.
