Bridle on. Bridle off. Quiet matters.
The bridle is the last thing you do before you get on — and it sets the tone for the whole ride.
Put it on slowly, with space and softness, so the horse chooses to put it on himself.
When you take it off, aim for a horse who chomps it out gently, not snatches or braces.
A reminder: there’s a dense cluster of nerve ganglia at the base of the ears.
Rushing, folding ears hard, or tugging the crownpiece isn’t “efficient” — it’s overwhelming.
Teach your horse to lower his head, wait, and stay curious.
Be patient with the ears. Be quiet with your hands.
Small moments like this build trust —
and trust shows up everywhere else.
