Minecraft Rome Project - Update #13 - Temple of Venus and Roma [TIMELAPSE]

Описание: Hello everyone! And here's another update on my Minecraft Rome Map.

In this series I will make small videos about the updates of my Minecraft Rome project. In this project I'm recreating ancient Rome in the year 200 AD. Currently I'm busy with what I call the 'Beautification Updates'. These updates are about changing various buildings to look better as well as placing them in the right position (I started building this project with a little lack of knowledge of the buildings which has forced me to fix all of this now :P). I hope you'll like the videos.

Temple of Venus and Roma:
This was the biggest temple in ancient Rome. The Temple of Venus and Roma was a decastyle temple that featured two cellae facing back-to-back. The temple was fully designed by Emperor Hadrian and construction lasted from 121 till 141 AD.

The temple was dedicated to the goddesses Venus Felix (Happy Venus) and Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome). Roma's cella faced west looking over the Forum Romanum, while Venus' cella faced east looking over the Colosseum. In both cellae were huge statues of the goddesses sitting on a throne. The architect Apollodorus of Damascus (who was Trajan's personal architect) made some scornful remarks about the size of these statues. He stated that the statues were so big that if they were to stand up they would hit their heads against the ceiling.

Now that this temple is finished along with the Via Sacra next to it I'll continue working on the Palatine Hill!
