Approximately 90 percent of your health plan premium goes directly to pay for medical care such as doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs and outpatient services. The remaining money is used to pay for things like taxes, government fees, administrative costs and broker commissions, and establish Horizon’s reserves.
