Monica, is an American R&B singer--songwriter, record producer, and occasional actress. Released her debut album Miss Thang in 1995. Its first two singles "Don't Take It Personal" and "Before You Walk out of My Life" made her the youngest recording act to ever have two consecutive chart-topping hits on the US Billboard Top R&B Singles chart.

In 1998, her second album The Boy Is Mine earned her major international chart success. Pushed by its number-one hit title track, a duet with singer Brandy, won the pair a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, it spawned two further chart-toppers, "The First Night" and "Angel of Mine", and established her position as one of the most successful of the urban R&B female vocalists to emerge in the mid to late-1990s.

Monica has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including over 5.1 million units in the United States alone.

"For You I Will" is a pop ballad written by Diane Warren, it was included on the soundtrack to the film Space Jam. In 1997, when released as a single, the song became a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as Billboards R&B chart. It also experienced some success internationally.

"For You I Will" was ranked #13 on Top Hot 100 Hits of 1997.
