Investigators say Muhammad shot and killed Winston and then took off with their child.
While Muhammad claimed she shot Winston in self-defense, neighbors testified the two were in a toxic relationship and she was usually the aggressor.
A judge sentenced her to life without the possibility of parole in addition to a 24-month prison sentence for the felony firearm conviction.
