Thousands of maskless demonstrators have packed out Trafalgar Square for an anti-lockdown protest, despite a plea fom police for people to stick to coronavirus restrictions.
The demonstrators, who are protesting against Government measures, carried a variety of signs, flags and placards as they descended on central London for the "we do not consent rally".
Some of those taking part cheered and clapped, shouting “we will win”. No-one appeared to be wearing face coverings or sticking to social distancing measures.
Earlier, police searched a man and confiscated a makeshift riot shield that he was carrying.
