In this video I am starting the rework of the 10 bolt gm rear end from my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. I removed this from the turbo truck because it had 3.73 gears and a Yukon Differential. This Yukon Diff is way stronger than the stock unit. You know I can't just pull a rear end out and put it in another truck. I have to spend the time and make things look better by painting and cleaning. I also took this time to replace the rusty backing plates on the truck. I will bet upgrading the rear brakes to a dual piston caliper because the single piston caliper is known to have issues. I bought new Calipers and wanted to use the por15 red caliper paint to make them look nice. I also scuffed the rear end housing and painted with POR15 original. It looks so much better. Since I had to take things apart I also installed new axle seals and will be upgrading to a TA Performance 10 bolt diff cover. I just have to source the correct metric bolts.
