We can decompose numbers to help with addition and subtraction. The decomposition strategy helps students create simpler numbers to add and subtract and can be used with other strategies to help make addition and subtraction a breeze. This song features a few ways to use the strategy to find the sum and difference. What other strategies do you know? Can you use any of them to solve the equations in the video?
