In this installment of our Pan with Purpose series, we highlight the Bethlehem Boys’ and Bethlehem Girls’ RC Schools and their joint ensemble, the Beth RC Vibes Steel Orchestra. The schools are beneficiaries of the East Port of Spain Development Company (EPOS) Pan in Schools Programme and advanced from a field of 32 schools to place 11th in the finals of the 2026 National Schools Panorama competition.
We also recognize Tokyo Steel Orchestra for their invaluable support. When the schools’ music room was deemed unsafe during competition preparations, Tokyo generously opened its panyard to ensure rehearsals continued uninterrupted. The panyard, which was upgraded and refurbished by EPOS in 2025, provided not just a space, but also mentorship, guidance and the full panyard experience to the students.
We once again congratulate the Beth RC Vibes Steel Orchestra on their achievement, and applaud Tokyo Steel Orchestra for helping to make this journey a rewarding one for the young pannists.
