Описание: We took our fully kitted Toyota Land Cruiser 200 to De Wildt 4x4 Game Park — just outside Johannesburg — for a weekend of camping, axle-twisting obstacles, wildlife encounters, questionable ablutions… and a proper bushveld braai.

From Bobbejaan se Kierie to the scenic viewpoint before Gert se Klip, this trip reminded us that you don’t need to drive to Namibia or Botswana to build real 4x4 confidence. Sometimes the best training ground is an hour from Fourways.

We accidentally go to the wrong De Wildt (there are two…)
Set up camp in Hadida
Inflate mattresses in the dark
Test 6,000 vs 12,000 lumen torches

We chose restraint over risk — especially with upcoming trips to Lebombo and Botswana — because overlanding isn’t about breaking parts. It’s about getting home safely… with stories.
