Primary Job Objective
The individual will ensure that the employees working in production are aware of quality requirements. The aim of this individual is to make production employees responsible for managing their own quality standards. Quality assurance officer will monitor continuous improvement programs, aiming to reduce the number of defects and improve levels of quality.
Minimum Requirements:
•A National Degree in Food Technology with English & Maths in Matric
•2 - 3 Years QHSE Management in Food related Production Environment with proven track record
•Working in a high-speed Bakery and Bread Environment
•Solid Understanding of HACCP, FOOD SAFETY standards and procedures
•Forward planning skills, problem-solving ability and high work standards are of prime importance
•Computer Literate (MS Office, Excel)
Job Description
1) QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY:
a) Perform all the required tests to ensure identity, purity, potency and composition, and to ensure that products are not contaminated ,cross contaminated or adulterated
b) Inspect the quality of the products in Receiving, Production, Storage, and Dispatch, including trading shipments from outside the country.
c) Inspecting prestart monitoring, product changeover monitoring, freezer monitoring, CCPs and OPRP monitoring on daily basis as per the BRC requirements.
d) verifying quality of the products and online grading and weight checking according to different classes as per customer-specification and date coding requirements
e) Quality clearance of raw material and finished goods through the policy of YAUMI, monitor all the Quality Inspection forms, CCP monitoring, date coding, Products on floor checks & online monitoring according to the Inspection Plans and Ensure that control points are strictly being monitored and maintained
f) Monitor hygiene standards within the factory to comply with FSMS & DM standards
g) Verification of pre-requisite programs includes pest control, calibration of equipment, personnel hygiene, and health & safety check with documentation as per HACCP, BRC, ISO a and HALAL norms.
h) Ensure that the latest revision of records is being used always in the line
i) Constantly monitor the quality process and take correction actions along with respective departments.
2) HEALTH AND SAFETY:
a) Providing and Maintaining a “Safe Working Environment”
b) Ensure that procedures for Housekeeping and safety are implemented, maintained & audited
3) INNOVATION:
a) Continuously look for new and improved methodologies to maximize efficiencies and Food safety standards
b) Assist on trial repots and trial run with production team
4) PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT:
a) Develop of Subordinates to ensure maximum plant efficiency
b) Identify critical positions and ensure adequately trained staff in place to maximize plant and production safety
5) COMMUNICATION:
a) Attend site forums
b) Assist with investigations and close out of incidents within the company
