Suhail Afridi’s Open Court (Khuli Kacheri)

Chief Minister Suhail Afridi held a Khuli Kacheri via video link, giving citizens from remote and underdeveloped areas direct access to the Chief Minister. Explaining the initiative, he said that just as Imran Khan launched “Your Prime Minister with You”, he is continuing the same public-centric governance model under “Your Chief Minister with You”.

A citizen from Bajaur raised a serious concern: a school with 423 students has only one teacher. Taking immediate notice, Suhail Afridi ordered authorities to resolve the issue and submit a report within 14 days, stating that even a 40-students-per-teacher ratio is an injustice.

A government report also shows a slight reduction in out-of-school children, now fewer than three out of ten, due to efforts in three provinces. The report highlighted that Punjab failed to play an effective role. Notably, this survey was conducted during the ministry of Ahsan Iqbal.

Criticism on Maryam Nawaz

Suhail Afridi’s direct engagement with citizens drew comparisons with Maryam Nawaz, with criticism that such transparent and accessible governance is not seen in Punjab, where citizens cannot directly raise concerns with the Chief Minister.

Journalists Sentenced – Trial in Absentia

An Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced Wajahat Saeed Khan, Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Mehdi, Adil Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Akbar Hussain, and Sabir Shakir under Trial in Absentia in a case related to alleged May 9 state-anti propaganda.
Although sentences run concurrently, separate punishments under multiple PPC and ATA sections amount to life imprisonment, long jail terms, and heavy fines in legal terms.
