Magic Kingdom day - a VERY early start …
We have never been at a park so early in all the years we have been coming we were through security in a matter of minutes but then we had to wait to get through the turnstiles - at 7.45 they started letting us in and we did our speed walk to get our first view of the castle in all her glory We got to the top of Main Street just before the hub and straight away we made good use of the memory maker our photographer was brilliant he was called Edwin and he has an Instagram handle #mainstreetedwin
We wanted to do 7 Dwarves Mine Train so after posing in front of the castle we made our way to the ride, the queue was really long but the ride wasn’t open yet— as soon as it opened the line moved fast we were on and off within 30 minutes it was quicker than I remember but we were really lucky to get the very back row. We were all pretty hungry so we decided on Gaston’s Tavern for the cinnamon roll - extra icing and the crème Brule croissant. The croissant was our new favourite after yearning for the cinnamon roll for 2 years. We were walking and saw the Haunted Mansion at 13 minutes so we walked straight on. Next it was Tiana’s Batou Adventure so off we went. Now I know it warns ‘you may get wet’ - we were soaked. The ride itself was brill the theming was off the scale - the animatronics were so good and you could smell baking as you were walking past Tiana’s kitchen. By this time it was 11.00am and the cavalcade was due to start, we loved seeing all the characters waving and clapping along with us. The park seemed really quiet so there was no jockeying for a spot. Next up Pirates of the Caribbean we even managed to get splashed on this too. After this we all decided that the early morning was starting to get to us so went to our must do ride TTA people mover and then head out of the park back to the resort. The people mover is just one of our all time favourites. As soon as we finished on the Peoplemover we made our way out of the park and as luck would have it there was a bus at our stop - so a little scurry from Lily to secure our spot we got to the bus only to realise we were the only ones on. It’s such a quick journey back to the resort - we got off at the nearest bus stop to our room, dropped the bags and straight for food we were starving. We got back to MK about 7.00pm just as the weather started to turn - ponchos on, we didn’t have a plan just wait it out until the parade and the fireworks. Can you imagine our reaction as we were walking and spotting the Hackett family.
They are a UK based family and they have a fabulous YouTube channel called the Hackett Family - Lily and I bumped into them back in 2022 and I have chatted to both Lyndsey and Ash over the years and Lily and Scarlett have both connected over social media - so even though the rain came in and boy did it rain !!!! We got to spend a magical evening in their company We did It’s a Small World while we were sheltering and then round to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure again, Lily and Scarlett just sang their way round and were loving each others company. After this is was about 8.50pm so we all walked together and got a place for Starlight parade - we waited and waited but the parade was cancelled. We quickly decided we were going to stake out a spot for Happily Ever After fireworks, Lyndsey and I were chatting away and honestly it was so lovely being in their company. We got a spot down Main Street just opposite Starbucks and before we knew it the lights dimmed and the opening bars of music started honestly this hit hard tonight I was absolutely engrossed every part of me was tingling - I looked across at the girls and they were singing along, Tink didn’t fly tonight but wow the fireworks just felt extra special I felt so happy and content. Lily and Scarlett jumped onto the MDE app and immediately looked at ride wait times - they declared they wanted to get in line for Tron and off they scarpered leave us to walk back up into Tomorrowland. We got back on TTA and did that at night instead, we got off just as it turned 11.00pm so that was good timing, the girls messaged to say they were going on Space Mountain. We walked around to look out for them coming off the ride - I don’t know where they get their energy from as Lily, Scarlett and Sienna were just like energiser bunnies As we made our way down Main Street to exit the park we stopped and had some photos as a 7, the girls had lots of pics on their own too. We had the most amazing night with the best company. So back to Riverside, a bus was at the stop but we couldn’t fit in but there was another one right behind it xx I got chatting to a Disney cast member from the California Disney - he and his Dad both work there - it was lovely ending to a very long Disney day but one for our memory bank xxx
