🌊 2025 English Interclub Surfing Championships – A Weekend to Remember at Porthtowan 🌊
The Interclubs brought surfers from across the country to Porthtowan, Cornwall (6–7 September), hosted by defending champions St Agnes Surf Lifesaving Club.
Interclubs is all about team pride. Clubs battle it out across Open, Women’s, and Junior divisions, with every result adding to the overall score – and the winners crowned Interclub Champions.
With perfect 3–5ft conditions, high-level performances, and the unique camaraderie that makes this event a surfer favourite, it was truly a weekend to remember.
Sadly the event was stopped early due to an output of sewage, with RNLI Lifeguards red flagging the beach. This was an ending like no other! But what a way to amplify the message to call water companies to take action to clean up.
The upside. We'd ran enough heats to draw a result, and ended in a sun-soaked presentation with glory for Newquay Boardriders.
