I know the Mop Fly is considered a "Junk Fly." Some tiers don't even consider it a real fly. Ok. I like the natural stuff for fly materials, too. But when Semperfli releases a new Mopster Chenille, what is a guy to do?
I tied this one (and the other video using ice chenille for the thorax) before a day trip to the river. Here's the thing: when nothing else was getting a strike, one of these mop flies got a bunch! So be a purist if you like, but if you're looking to catch fish, this out to be in your fly box.
