Zoji La Tunnel Final Blast Completed | Major Milestone in Himalayan Mega Project

Описание: The final blasting work of the Zoji La Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir has been successfully completed, marking a major milestone in one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.

The event was attended by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and senior military officials, highlighting the strategic importance of the project.

The 13-kilometer-long tunnel is being constructed in the Western Himalayas at an altitude of 11,578 feet above sea level. Once completed, it is expected to become the world’s longest single-tube, two-lane bi-directional tunnel.

The project aims to provide all-weather, year-round connectivity between Srinagar and Ladakh, ensuring uninterrupted transport of goods, emergency services, and strengthening military logistics in the strategically important border region.
