This 400m² home in Jardim América, São Paulo, underwent a thoughtful renovation by CR2 Arquitetura to address its dark interiors and fragmented layout. By removing the old service block and surrounding walls, the architects introduced a new structure featuring a kitchen and bathroom that now open directly to the dining area. Accoya wood cladding was used to unify the new and old elements, creating a clean, modern aesthetic.
A key design move included a recessed roofline that wraps the house with a covered walkway and opens views to newly added gardens on both sides. Upstairs, an L-shaped rooftop garden brings greenery back to the site, transforming the previously closed-off home into a bright, airy, and nature-connected space.
