Описание: The beautiful Welsh town of Llangollen in North Wales, sits in the Dee Valley and is surrounded by hills and mountains. We begin our walk beside the River Dee, the largest river in North Wales, which flows through the town and is very popular for water sports including white water rafting and kayaking. Making our way along the river we pass the old sluice gate of Dee Mill before heading up on to the Grade I listed 16th Century bridge, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and one of the ancient Seven Wonders of Wales. From here you can view the Llangollen Railway which is a lovingly restored heritage railway and run by volunteers. The view from the bridge is a great place to watch the kayakers and white water rafting below, with people often cheering them on as they pass by. The town of Llangollen has many lovely cafes, restaurants and shops along its main street and narrower side streets. We follow the road beside the river which leads to the Victoria Promenade and Riverside Park. This beautiful riverside path was originally called Ceryg y Llan but was renamed Victorian Path after Queen Victoria visited Llangollen on 26th August 1889. The beautiful sight of the hills above Llangollen come in to view as we finish our walk in Riverside Park looking back down the river towards the beautiful town and surrounding countryside.
