In this video, I will show you, how to paint transparent Luna moth or any butterfly with broken wings in watercolor. At first, I got carried away with drawing a sketch (with a simple pencil), and then I decided that I needed to give it color with watercolors.
This is a short video of Watercolor Luna moth Painting Demonstration.
It is not the tutorial of watercolor Luna moth, because it takes me about 4 hours to paint this painting. I speed up the process 8x.
But in this video you can understand the very principle of painting a translucent Luna moth in watercolor or any butterfly. Here I used layered watercolor techniques and wet on wet techniques.
I love to paint illustrachion in watercolors, but transparent watercolor is my favorite watercolor technique.
Painting them is more like meditation)

Rosa watercolors: yellow ochre, burnt sienna , sepia, neutral black
Clairefontaine Watercolor paper
Water, Paper Towels
Pinax hi - tech brushes (4,6)
