The Missa Brevis is a mass written by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina first published in 1570.
It is among the most performed of Palestrina's polyphonic repertoire.
The opening Kyrie starts with the Alto voice and is gradually repeated throughout by the other voices. Christe begins with a new melody, and then closes with a motif similar to the first The final Kyrie begins the with an extended Bass voice, initiating the closing melodic sequence.
