There are many creative ways to use CAS Standards that achieve assessment and program review goals but also help to structure and enact programs and services that help staff facilitate student learning, development, and success. The Standards are also a vehicle for professional development and planning for competency building. This session will provide some ideas as to how you might “raise your standard” of delivering student affairs programs and services and will help student affairs assessment leaders fulfill their consultative and coaching functions relative to supporting staff in effectively using CAS. As a result of participating, you will be able to (1) explain how the CAS Standards facilitates continuous improvement efforts in student affairs, (2) ideate about CAS Standards use beyond self-assessment and program review as typically conceived, and (3) determine a plan for applying the CAS Standards in your student affairs assessment and continuous improvement plans.
