This Dunhill Tanshell from the 1970s looked like nothing more than a dirty, forgotten pipe when I first got it. Years of grime had completely masked its natural beauty, and I honestly wasn’t sure what condition it would be in underneath.
After 4 hours of patient restoration, the transformation was incredible, the original Tanshell finish emerged untouched, revealing the unique texture and warm tones Dunhill is famous for. What started as a risky project has now become one of my favorite pipes in my collection.
