Hi, I’m Mitch—the person behind Rainier Aviation. I’ve lived here for six years, and every day I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a view that has never and will never get old. Between the mountain, the planes, and the changing skies, it felt like something worth sharing—and that’s how this channel started.

The livestream runs from a camera mounted on a 10-foot rooftop mast, stabilized with guy wires. I use a Sony DC-10 Mark IV for the stills and close-up takeoff shots, and a PTZ camera for the live feed—complete with night vision and soon, auto-tracking and ATC overlay (coming soon!). I’m working on striking the right balance between detailed plane spotting and the wide, scenic shots of Sea-Tac and Mount Rainier that people find peaceful and calming.

I have a full-time job, but I check in as often as I can and work on new content daily. If you’ve sent a request or a suggestion—thank you—I’ll do my best to get to it soon. I'm happy to take requests for shots and will do my best to get them- weather permitting. The support so far has meant a lot. I've quickly learned it takes a lot of work to keep the channel running and evolving, and every comment, share, and view genuinely helps. I'm loving it so far.

Much more to come. Rainier Aviation will always be about the stream and aviation photography, but there is so much more I want to do. I'm excited for it to evolve and hope you stick around for the journey.
