What if The Father Sent Anakin, Obi-Wan, & Ahsoka to the Death Star - Part 2? Let's explore the depths of it in this video.

Anakin takes a deep breath and looks around at the gathered crowds beyond. Many of them were soldiers and members of the Rebel Alliance, the same people he had shed blood with. The same people he had nearly butchered because the Emperor had fooled him. But now they do not look to him as a foe, but as the voice of truth, the person who can provide answers to the questions they have had about him and what happened on Yavin IV.

Finally, he raises his head and stares directly at the camera, which is broadcasting all of this on the holonet, sending a transmission across the galaxy. He starts with who he is, introducing himself as Anakin, as the hero of the Clone Wars, recounting his position in the Jedi Order and his service until he reaches the part where they discuss their mission on Mortis, and then his breath catches in his throat.

Anakin: After this mission, something strange happened. Even I am not sure what exactly had happened, but when our ship returned to normal space, we weren’t within our own time. Instead, we arrived here, in your time, almost twenty years later, when the Empire had taken over. Our ship stumbled upon the Death Star, and I was captured…

His voice trails off as he regards his friends, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex. All three offer him a reassuring nod, telling him to keep going. Steeling himself, Anakin continues to speak.

Anakin: And during my captivity, the Emperor spoke to me; he filled me with lies, saying that the Jedi tried to stage a coup and it was Vader who defeated them. But he took control of the government, and he was the one who built the Death Star. I now realize those are lies. All of that was Palpatine’s doing. He wanted to turn me against my friends, and he did. Luckily, they were able to escape with the Death Star plans and organize a counterattack, but before they did, the rebels launched a rescue effort to save the other prisoners…and it was there that I killed the hero Old Ben Kenobi, or as you know him, the late Obi-Wan Kenobi the elder. However, thanks to their efforts, we managed to kill Vader and destroy the Death Star.

He lets those words sink in and spares a glance towards Luke and Leia. The two young heroes don’t say anything, but their face says everything he needs to know before they march off, leaving him and storming out of the room.

However much he wants to go after them, he stays to continue giving his briefing, taking solace in the fact that this news is being transmitted across the galaxy, even to the citizens of the Empire.

And one of those who watches is Palpatine, whose face twists into a snarl as he listens to all of this. But none of that compares to the fact that he had lost both his apprentice and the opportunity to obtain the student he had longed for, the one whose power knows no limits.

As the holofeed comes to an end, he slams his fist to the desk and considers his options. The immediate aftermath of the situation was not gone. Just the fact that the Death Star was made public was already a disaster. There were many people asking for answers. Civilians are wondering where their taxes are going, soldiers question how such a weapon could be destroyed, and there are countless families asking about their missing loved ones who were serving on the station.

It’s taking every ounce of political maneuvering that Palpatine has just to keep them under control, but even then, things are beginning to unravel. The Senate questions the decisions he’s making and is demanding greater oversight, civilians are beginning to protest, and even some of his soldiers are beginning to doubt the Empire’s strength.

And now, he does not have his enforcer to bring them back under control, or even Tarkin, who has no qualms about achieving victory no matter what.

Mas Amedda: Emperor, the Senate is requesting that an audit be conducted for the funding you set aside for this…project.

Palpatine: Damned rebel sympathizers. They are like parasites sucking our blood.

Mas Amedda: That they are, but unfortunately, it is not just them. Even some of those we hoped to keep neutral are concerned. They are starting to speak out.
