Rich Rebuilds invited me to come to his garage when I told him that I had a special gift for him. I had fabricated a BMW i8 engine display cover with the help of Rebecca, which took many months to create because I'm not a fabricator. The BMW i8 forums were going nuts over the fact that someone could create a cover to display the engine. I even received dozens of requests to build another. After I sold the BMW i8, I kept the engine cover knowing it was meant to go to Rich in order to complete the BMW i8 Supercar that he intended it to be!

In this video, Rich and I go through the process of replacing the stock cover on his BMW i8 with my fabricated engine display cover. The leather top cover, the foam inner cover and the metal bottom cover and knurled knobs were removed. We also removed the sound insulation cover from the top of the 3 cylinder B38 engine. We then install the carbon fiber oil cap, the carbon fiber covered sound insulation engine cover, the glass unit and the top cover that Rebecca and I fabricated.

Rich Rebuilds is a true car enthusiast and the salt of the earth! It was a pleasure to be on hand to help him complete his BMW i8 Supercar!
