Hair repair treatments: Olaplex vs K18 comparison
Both help to reduce hair damage. Both contain unique patented technology.
👉🏻For @olaplex it contains ingredient to temporarily rebuild the bonds in hair. Since disulfide bond reactions occur relatively quickly, the results is more readily seen. However this is temporarily as the bonding technique, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, dissolves or washes away over time.
👉🏻 @k18hair contains a unique peptide that mimics a part of hair at the molecular level. It’s taken up by hair more readily and helps to repair weakened hair filaments permanently. Additionally, since the sequence contains cysteine amino acids (ones that are used to form disulfide bonds) it also aids in making new bonds indirectly.
How well they work depends on your hair and also personal preference (pre vs post shampoo treatment)
To me, Olaplex is great if you have mildly damaged hair; and K18 is more helpful for severe damage.
But since both work in different ways, why not use them together for better results?
