But ultimately, each Gone with the Wind cast member played their part in making the show such a huge success. Sadly, every Gone with the Wind cast member has now died and another chapter in the Hollywood story has come to an end. Mickey Kuhn was the last surviving member of the cast and he died on November 20, 2022. Two years prior, actress Olivia de Havilland died at the age of 104. Of course, we’ve also lost two of the main cast members Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh – both of whom became huge stars in this film.

The film had many struggles to come together and it took a while until the casting team found the perfect cast for the film. The film was slightly controversial when it was released and perhaps is more so now. They had to work hard to bring Margaret Mitchell’s characters to life and this is perhaps one of the few examples when a film outshines the novel that it’s based on.
