BREAKING: Secretary Lutnick Promises Senators a Quick BEAD Rollout

Описание: Department of Commerce. Secretary Howard Lutnick testified at a hearing today in the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies. When asked about the status of the BEAD program, he promised that the updated Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) would be released soon. After that all states would be expected to have their final proposals in within 90 days, and the NTIA will then get all BEAD funding out the door within in another 90 days. In other words, states can receive the remainder of their funding before the end of the year, as long as they ensure their programs are technology neutral. It remains to be seen whether there are any changes to the preference for Fiber broadband in the updated guidance and NOFO. #BeadProgram #Broadband #HowardLutnick
