The Thermaltake Tough Air 710 Black edition on paper ticks all the right boxes, big dual tower design, 2 140mm silent fans with high static pressure, 7 6mm heat pipes to draw the heat away from the nickel plated anti corrosion cold plate. Add in support for up to 250w TDP and this is looking like a mighty CPU cooler and a contender for the upper mid range cooling crown!
But there are a few gotchas along the way, less so for AM4 and AM5 users, But Intel socket users might be a little frustrated with the mounting mechanism.
The biggest issue some will face is the sheer size of the cooler and the fans. Ram clearance is pretty bad, and really needs low profile non RGB RAM.
But there is a good way to remedy pretty much all the flaws in the design with a very simple modification that doesn't really effect the cooling performance and allows you to mount this cooler in a much wider range of cases.
