Sweden’s Saab has unveiled Nimbrix, a compact, low-cost counter-drone missile system designed to address the growing threat of cheap unmanned aerial systems. Introduced in August 2025 and showcased at DSEI London, Nimbrix offers a fire-and-forget capability against small and maneuvering drones at short range—up to 5 km. Lightweight and easily mountable on tripods, 4x4 vehicles, or integrated into Saab’s Trackfire ecosystem, it bridges the gap between gun systems and VSHORAD missiles. Built for scalability and easy networking, Nimbrix can connect to existing radar and command systems for layered defense. Saab is targeting 2026 for initial deliveries, with potential for international co-production. If proven effective, it could reshape cost-efficient counter-UAS operations across Europe and beyond.
