In this session we will be exploring language, culture, and lived experience in a warm and supportive setting. Our community’s favourite Portuguese teacher, Filomena, will explain why Portuguese can feel so challenging, especially for adult learners, and why effort matters so much in Portuguese culture. Trying, even when it feels uncomfortable, is noticed and appreciated, and it often opens doors that perfect grammar never could.
Alongside this, members of our community will share real stories from their own learning journeys. Some are funny, some are awkward, and some are quietly uplifting. They show how learning Portuguese is not about avoiding mistakes, but about learning through them, building confidence, and discovering that these shared experiences often lead to connection, encouragement, and even friendship.
