Описание: Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and sailing. It consists of a board usually 2.5 to 3 meters long, with displacements typically between 60 and 250 litres, powered by wind on a sail. The rig is connected to the board by a free-rotating universal joint and consists of a mast, boom and sail. The sail area generally ranges from 2.5 m2 to 12 m2 depending on the conditions, the skill of the sailor, the type of windsurfing being undertaken and the weight of the person windsurfing.

Défi Wind 2017 :
They came from all over the world to Gruissan for windsurfing, and after three days of waiting and celebration, the fourth day was finally the right one. Although it was not the famous Tramontana, but the wind off, almost opposite to the Tram' and about fifteen knots, finally offered a beautiful day of windsurfing to the participants of the Défi Wind. On a race of 12km, Julien Bontemps dominated the race perched on his foil in front of the traditional boards.
Last night the evening was lively in Gruissan as dancers and spectators danced thanks to the excellent Las Vegas Wedding and Will Barber relayed then by DJ Feli. Several thousand people have celebrated on the Défi Wind place thanks to windsurfing. With many spectators outside the event, Philippe Bru didn't miss the opportunity to show some images of the real Défi Wind to the crowd, to recontextualize the concerts. This morning the wake-up was probably a little bit difficult for a good part of the participiants, but the wind off breath in the cottage village quickly put everyone on alert function.
The time to set up a race and organize the sea team in unusual conditions on the Défi Wind, Francky Roguet and Philippe Bru gave the countdown one hour before the start of the first race. The principle of the departure to the hare was preserved but this time the traditional hare boat was replaced by a jet ski, more manageable in a formed sea. Then, a buoy was wet in the cross wind at 3km for a course in the form of eight. The competitors had to complete two laps before crossing the finish line. Right from the start, the foils were going strong with Bruno André, who started off well at the bottom of the line. The very hurried body of water made the task very difficult and only Julien Bontemps could do well in front of the traditional boards. Among them, Thomas Goyard, Diony Guadag.
Heading from end to end with his 7.8 and his foil NeilPryde, the 2008 Olympic champion dominated Diony Guadanino and Thomas Goyard from end to end, but not without difficulty, of his own confession. Finally, thanks to a good final lap Thomas Goyard was behind Julien Bontemps on the finish in front of Ludovic Jossin, Diony Guadagnino and Steve Laubaney. In women's competition, double World Slalom champion Delphine Cousin dominated the race ahead of Maëlle Guilbaud and Polish Maja Dziarnowska. Small wink also to Bastien Escoffet, first young of this funny race, who cut the line in 7th position scratch. For the amateurs, the conditions remained difficult with a very chopped sea compared to the force of the wind which complicated the task of all and for some the end of route was a little long. But the spirit of the Challenge Wind is to wait for the last able to finish and there was no question of derogating from the rule.
With this good moment when the riders finally found themselves on the water, the plan was to launch a second round in the middle of the afternoon. However, the wind decided to drop a notch to stay below 10-12 knots and therefore to prevent any second stick of mass. It was then time to concentrate on the distribution of lots with three boards, one sail and one foil drawn among the defenders present before the winners of the funny races of yesterday in foil and today's one are not Rewarded on the podium by officials. Now, after this 17th edition of the Défi Wind, windsurfers can leave home in peace, of course they did not have this famous Tram 'expected by all, but they were on the water in numbers and the site swept away the' Energy and the passion of windsurfing all week. Rendez vous is therefore taken for next year to the ascencion hoping this time a good Tram '!
