Recited around the world, five times a day, the caller invites people to take a break from their daily affairs and join together in praise and remembrance of God, reminding them there is no true success without Him.
The beautiful diversity that exists within the religion of Islam comes to light when you are blessed to travel the world and hear the various adhans recited aloud in different countries. While they may have slight differences, the message is the same; we are being invited to join together and direct our hearts towards God through prayer and His remembrance. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, white or black, male or female, all are equal before God and differentiated only by their relationship with Him, which only He truly knows. We are all seeking a connection with Him for He is our Creator. And we are reminded by the adhan, that while we may get lost and distracted throughout our day, our inevitable return is to Him.
