‘Ultimately, we can’t topple Iranian regime…”, Israel makes big statement amid intense war with Iran

Описание: In conversation with The Times of Israel, Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar made a big statement amid Iran war. Sa’ar admitted Israel can’t bring down the Iranian regime on their own. The Israeli FM said only Iranians could topple their government. Sa’ar however said Iranians would require ‘external assistance’ to topple the regime. Sa’ar said regime change wasn’t an explicit war aim but effort must be made to create conditions that allow for regime change. Sa’ar added dramatic weakening of the Iranian regime’s mechanisms of repression was vital. He said Israel was striking the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ bases, headquarters, and command-and-control sites. Sa’ar said Israel was operating in a way that by the end Iran would be sufficiently weakened and change would be possible. Notably, Israel and U.S. launched strikes on Iran on Feb 28 that eliminated top Iranian leadership.
