The first Mana game - Mystic Quest - 1

Описание: Welcome to a legendary journey back to the Game Boy era! In this video, I’m diving into the 1991 classic Mystic Quest (known as Final Fantasy Adventure in the US), the very first entry in the beloved Mana series. This game holds a special place in my heart—I actually had the original cartridge until just a few months ago. We follow the story of the Tree of Mana, which grows high atop Mount Elusia, fueled by the energy of will. The Dark Lord is desperate to claim its eternal power to conquer the world, but he didn't count on our hero, Sumo, stepping up to stop him!

We kick things off in the brutal Gladiator catacombs of the Glaive Empire, where Sumo is forced to fight for the Dark Lord’s entertainment. The action starts immediately as we witness the tragic passing of our friend Willie, who urges us to find the Gemma Knight, Bogart, to protect the Mana Tree. After a narrow escape from the arena and a literal three-screen fall following a confrontation with the Dark Lord himself, we find ourselves in the peaceful town of Topple. It’s classic action-RPG gameplay reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda, but with those deep RPG stats and leveling systems that make the Mana series so unique.

As we explore the world, we’ve already crossed paths with our heroine, Fuji, who joins us after another tragic loss in the wilderness. I'm currently grinding for gold to upgrade our gear to iron—because these jellyfish and swamp monsters don't play around! I'm planning to play through the whole series, moving on to Secret of Mana next, so join me as I figure out the best way to level up Sumo’s power and stamina.
