Do you know who Raavan and Kumbhkarn really were?
At Vaikuntha’s gate, the Kumaras arrived to meet Vishnu… but were stopped by the doorkeepers Jay and Vijay.
“You are too small to enter Vaikuntha,” they mocked.
The sages were enraged.
“We are Brahma’s mind-born sons — blocking us is a sin! We curse you — be born on Earth!”
Vishnu appeared:
“I cannot remove the curse… but I can give you a choice —
Seven births as my devotees, or three births as my enemies.”
Jay chose three births — so they could return to Vaikuntha sooner.
And Vishnu decreed:
“You will be — Hiranyaksha & Hiranyakashipu, Raavan & Kumbhkarn, Shishupal & Dantvakra.”
Three lifetimes. Three deaths at the hands of the very God they loved.
Because sometimes… even opposition is another path to love.
